How I got Adopted.

Someone asked me to tell the story about how

I got adopted…by my cats.

Well, there’s no real way to say it except to tell it again.

My roommate at the time (Blain) and I were out shopping for groceries. We came home and unloaded in the typical fashion. Leave the front door open and the trunk open and just shift stuff from car to kitchen. Easy Peasy.

But then once I set down a few loads in the kitchen I turned to go back outside, and I was confronted by a very small kitten who ran right in with so much excitement. In shock I was thinking “Where did you come from?” and of course Blain walked in the door as I held up my hand like “Don’t move!” so I could not frighten the little thing.

After a few minutes of introduction-sniffing…another came in!

Our jaws dropped. “How many of them are out there!?” Blain went to check the entire surrounding of the house. No other kittens were found. It was said on the news that this night would be the coldest and would freeze over. That’s why we went shopping to get a last few items so we wouldn’t need to go out for several days!

I could not in my heart abandon them. They clearly chose us, and with opportunity they sprung into action. It definitely saved their lives. So I went back out to the store while Blain kitty-sat. I bought everything necessary for little kittens to be comfortable and acclimate. Was an extra $80.00 I didn’t intend on spending. But was happy I did.

Now the funny part of this story is how I literally and truthfully had that conversation in my head about how I was still kinda lonely and maybe a pet would be nice. Then I thought it through, thinking of how much work it would be. Then changed my mind. Less than 24 hours later these cats came into my life. If that wasn’t the biggest sign drop in the world I’m not sure what is.

So the little ones stayed with us. And as roommates came and went, they stayed with me. We couldn’t bear to rip them apart. They came to us together, and that’s how they will stay til the end of their days.
