You’re Not Qutting.

Can we just address how the world is always pushing you to Quit?

I feel like people both in and outside the industries are always trying to drag you down rather than show you what will work or will make it to next level you need to be at. And not even just them! Normal…stupid…people too.

Examples:
“You can’t draw anime. You won’t get anywhere drawing like THAT.”
”You can’t do Illustration unless you’re the BEST there is.”
”You can’t be an animator unless you work for big companies and nobody is gonna hire
you.”
”You’d better go to the best college or else you’ll never meet the right people.”

Can we stop trying to crush people’s dreams right off the bat? Don’t put other down just because YOU don’t think it’s possible doesn’t mean it isn’t for everyone else. Just means YOU are 100% certain that YOU can’t do it so why would anyone else? It’s just rude. If you’re such a damn expert tell me the best way to MAKE IT HAPPEN. Yeah, thought you had it all set in your tiny little mind didn’t you?

The “Successful” minds that I’ve seen aren’t looking at how things CAN’T be done and then quitting.

They are finding out what doesn’t work, then looking for other ways to make it happen.

“I’m not Quitting, my Dreams are simply moving in a different direction.“

And trust me, I’ve had my own moments, between writing this blog and posting it I’ve made the decision to quit an idea I had planned for this year simply because I had a BETTER idea. But as the title shows I want to talk about how it’s NOT quitting.

Everyone changes both physically and mentally over the years. Especially every 5-7 years. We don’t ALWAYS want the same thing. There comes these times where you’re presented with options to either continue or simply quit as they call it. Sometimes it’s not even really quitting so much as it is putting things off for later.

A very toxic thought always ran through my mind when I didn’t immediately finish projects or ideas. Sometimes things need to ferment! It still eats at me some days, but I always remind myself that just because I haven’t finished it doesn’t mean I won’t pick it up again.

Although in some cases I did quit! I quit a lot of things. Changing your mind doesn’t make you a quitter. It just means you’re dreams and aspirations are advancing in different directions and you’ve chosen to move away from your original plans. And you don’t have to answer to anyone about why you changed your mind. It just happens. So get comfortable quitting. It’s not the end of the world.

BIG DEAL.

Be you. Do what makes you happy. Everything else is second.
