1st Week
Illustrations & Fire Recovery
STILL working on our lovely Xal’atath. She’s coming along so nicely although it’s going slower than I wished. The fire is about 30% contained, but we had several crews working about our mountainside and they’ve made it safe to stay. Dad is busy on the mountain while I decided to go ahead and stay with Grandma until September!
This gives me time to keep working on Xally. I brought my CIntiq to Grandma’s so I can keep progress going. At this point I don’t care how long it takes. Just as long as it looks fabulous in the end.
2nd Week
Crochet Projects
Started up two crochet projects for the moment. A Kraken Hat and a Star Wars throw blanket. So far so good despite a lot of confusion with how other people describe their work. I’m not great with math, but clearly these people can’t count. I’m making notes and modifications as I go through some of these. The blanket is luckily pretty straight forward once you figure out what stitch people are talking about. I didn’t realize some people count backwards. I’ll elaborate more in a video someday.
3rd Week
Erion Graphic Novel
I’m slowly coming to a point where I can post more about my Novel and begin writing. I’ve reopened my Patreon for extra support, and all of my exclusive posts will go there. I am still working on making a nice page for my website here to direct anyone towards Patreon, but it’s coming along much faster than I anticipated. I can put more time towards it once the Xal’atath Illustration is complete, which should be in another week or two!
Xal’atath Illustration
Speaking of the Void Goddess herself, she’s turning out fairly decent compared to what I thought she would look like. I had an idea in my head, but even that wasn’t as awesome as how she’s starting to look all on her own. I’m so excited for this piece to be finished so I can print it! You guys can look forward to seeing her FULL time lapse on YouTube. I don’t even know how long we’ve spent on this piece, but I’ll calculate it and find out.
Tomb Raider I - Remastered
I also started up a new game, I’ve never played the originals, but I’ve had SO much fun playing. It was a bit of a struggle at first with the controls, but we figured it out pretty quick and it’s been just a blast ever since.
4th Week
Weekend with Mom & Grandma
We went to the movies to see Alien Romulus together which was hilarious. Grandma just about shit herself at the trailers. They were showing Nosferatu and she jumped scared so bad she screamed out “SHIT” in the middle of the theater and had the whole place laughing. I was like, Grandma, you realize we are here to see ALIEN. There’s gotta be a lot more of that. And she was like “YEAH!? Well I wasn’t ready!”
The movie itself was hilarious from my point of view. You know I’ve seen these at too early an age because it doesn’t frighten me, the jump scares don’t scare me, but I was giggling throughout the entire thing because everyone on both sides were jumping hardcore at almost everything and I couldn’t help but be amused through the whole thing.
Aside from the Movies we went shopping and of course I got another load of books. I found this collection of Alien books and I’ve never read anything in this genre before so I’m pretty excited. We also picked up Crescent City Series by Sarah J. Maas. We only got the first two books because the first place we were at didn’t have the first, but the second didn’t have the last so I was happy just getting the thing started. I’ll have to pick up the third book eventually. But we had a great weekend and it was full of fun and laughter.
Finished Illustration
Finally finished Void Mommy Xal’atath. She was worth all the effort!
Fridge Incoming
Dad and I also ordered a full sized refrigerator for home AND finished the Flooring. It’s been an insane, crazy month trying to catch up since the fire.
While I couldn’t have predicted the chaos that ensued these past two months it’s a wonder I got anything done at all. I’m so happy that projects still got completed. Thank you so much to everyone who has been there helping me find ways to keep going and improving along the way. I can’t wait to share more with you guys next month!
