The Ruby’s Curse

Review: This book was a shot in the dark. I wasn’t sure how I would like it, but River Song is my favorite Doctor Who character. Other than some slang I’m sure I don’t understand, it was a positive read! It was witty, fun, and exciting. Everything I love in a book. The adventure never ends and the ending was immensely sweet. There wasn’t a single thing in this book I would change or even add. The benefit of the actress playing the character now writing the book as the character is clever and so much more fun! Personally I love Ancient Egypt so this entire story pulled on my strings right from the beginning. Secondly, I never read as a child unless it was a mystery novel. So thirdly, adding in Time Travel only made it a truly unique and new favorite story.
Personal Notes: If you’re unfamiliar with the Doctor Who characters this book would still stand alone and do just fine. The only thing one needs to remember is that there is a lot of time travel. It’s not overly complicated to keep it all straight. Alex wrote this novel perfectly.
