Kitty Adventures

We’re going on some Adventures!

Every new adventure needs new gear. Well HELLO kitty backpack! I’ve managed to find a heavy duty backpack with a dome capsule and enough room for either kitty to lay down if she wishes.

Both have inspected the merchandise…

And one really won’t get in it even if treats are involved.

Ahsoka dislikes small spaces. Yui on the other hand has now at least decided that if she gets in the backpack treats are SURE to just flow her way!

Tolerant Ahsoka.

Since Ahsoka is heavier and her harness is larger I did not want to make her be uncomfortable for too long. Associating it as a form of punishment was the last thing I wanted.

So I gave them treats for wearing those horrible torture devices!

Yui’s Expectations.

Yep. That’s the look. “Exqueeze me, Hooman, where are my TREATS!? You DO see I’m sitting here waiting for it right?”

-Sigh-

Harness & Backpack Training

There are good and bad points to training a cat in general. They be spicy as hell when they aren’t happy with what you are trying to accomplish. I’d like to say that mine are the WORST but time and time again they’ve proven me wrong!

Yui had a bit of an attitude towards the harness but I let them wear it for a good hour the night before. Most people would probably tell you that you should let them wear it for a week.

Same for the Backpack. Throw treats in it and watch them go for it. But then Yui now believes that sitting in the backpack means treat time. -____- Not intended. But it happened.

First day out!

First off, NO these pictures are completely un-edited. Alabama really is just this pretty. Look at that blue sky. It’ll be important when I get to California to show you the difference. Also how GREEN it is. NOT in Southern California.

Ahsoka was reduced to sniffing out the bottom left most hole and laying down being upset I got her into the backpack at all.

But she eventually decided looking around a bit was beneficial. A few meows as we went back inside to share her pain and unhappiness, but she was totally 100% okay.

Yui on the other hand was very energetic and looking around. For each cat I stopped and set the backpack down to open the top and let them sniff and look. Yui had a much better time in my opinion.

The backpack choice was also made after a lot of agonizing over what would fit them best. In the end I chose this one because of the size so they could lay down, the additional side pockets, and heavy duty zippers. Plus the bottom has a metal clip so I can attach anything extra that I might need.

Final Thoughts

I’m loving the fact that this can help in my personal mission to get stronger. I can haul my cats around for new adventures, and get some exercise!

Considering they did so much better than I anticipated I expect it to be less of a hassle the more we do it.

At some point I should be able to say “Wanna go outside?” And they’ll be able to tell me how much it excites them. Ahsoka maybe not so much but definitely Yui.

Yui is the most vocal one anyways, but they do like to talk to me A LOT.

The next few hours after our new Adventure they’ve been very loving and snuggly. So I can only assume they will slowly accept our new lifestyle. And then the Car Training Adventures. OH BOY! Who’s excited? We are!
